Who Gets a New Car for Christmas?

by on Friday, December 28th, 2012

All month long we have been forced to watch car commercials suggesting that giving someone a brand new luxury car is the perfect Christmas gift. Now, I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to spend that kind of money on a fucking Christmas present, I don’t care how hot the bitch might be. I can see spending a couple grand on something like diamonds or a vacation to someplace exotic. But i’m not dropping fifty grand on a new car for a woman as a Christmas gift.

For another thing, I think that is kind of cheesy. You should buy a car because you need a car and its time to buy a new one, regardless of whether it is Christmas or anniversary or whatever. Buying a car should be for the sake of buying a car. Giving a gift should be something unrelated to a basic necessity like daily transportation.

Do you know anyone who gave a car or got a car as a Christmas gift – ever? I would really like to know how many people think that is OK and actually do it.

Falling Leaves and Acorns

by on Thursday, October 11th, 2012

This morning there was enough breeze that the leaves are starting to fall off the trees in my neighborhood and blow across everyone’s yards. I have a lot of trees in the yard – both front yard and back yard, so I spend a lot of time raking those fucking leaves up every year. I think I pulled about 40 huge plastic leaf bags full from just the back yard last year.

The asshole county landfill has decided that plastic trash bags and plastic leaf bags are a burden on the landfill, so you are not allowed to bring leaves and yard waste to the landfill in plastic bags anymore. You have to use brown kraft paper bags – which suck ass if they get wet because then the bottom falls out and all the fucking leaves get dumped right back out on the street or the yard – or worse, in the trunk of your fucking car. Who’s bright idea was that?

New Car Clearance

by on Tuesday, August 21st, 2012

Ads for the cars dealerships around here have really increased this month. It is the end of the model year and they are desperate to get rid of all the 2012 year mode inventory and make room for the new 2013 model years cars and trucks.

The TV models are almost always local girls who are pretty but have very little training on how to walk and talk at the same time for a dealership ad.. As long as they have a pretty face and big tits, they get on the air.

The next model years cars are not all that promising I haven’t seen any news from car shows about any big improvements or new concepts. Even the hybrid models are not selling as well as hoped. Its partly the blame of the manufacturers but I think it is also a reflection of the bad economy. People just can’t risk taking on a new car loan for $20K when they don’t have a good, full time job or their job is in jeopardy.

Once this economy starts getting better, we should see a pent up demand for new cars. They just have to wait a while longer – we should see things changing after the elections – one way or another.

Protect Your Head

by on Friday, May 4th, 2012

Wearing a helmet when you ride a bicycle or a motorcycle is a must. When your adversaries on the road are the idiot rednecks who drive around here, you need to protect your head and any other valuable body parts.

I swear the people here are ignorant and careless. They send texts, drinks beer and even read the newspaper from behind the wheel Don’t let these idiots who are not paying attention to their driving wreck your ride and kill your ass.

Drive defensively and protect your head. Wear boots to protect your feet and wear long sleeves, preferably a leather jacket to protect your arms and chest. No shorts – wear long pants. Smart people also wear some kind of face shield or eye protection so you don’t catch a bug in your eye at 60 miles an hour. Protection is important – your life and health depends on how smart and careful you are.

Electric Cars All the Rage

by on Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

All of a sudden everyone I know is going out and buying electric cars. They say the price of gas being almost $4 a gallon is forcing them to sell their old cars and buy an electric one. The electric ones are not cheap. I wonder if they really did the math and figured out if they are saving on gas or just spending the same money as before – just driving a newer car wit less power and a bigger car payment?

My breaking point is $5 a gallon. when gas goes that high – and I’m sure it will some day – then I will switch to alternative fuel. But for now, my car is paid off and I don’t have a car payment – and I don’t want a car payment, either.
