Today is my loving wife’s birthday and I still have not gotten her the birthday gift that I have been looking for. I really wanted to find her a broach that we had seen a couple of years ago, but the search for this kind of broach is driving me crazy. I have searched online as well as in the many different antique shops here in Nashville, all to no avail. I guess I will have to give up for this year and find a different gift for her. Oh well happy birthday Hun. We will be taking the whole family out to eat later and that will be a lot of fun I am sure. Not sure that David will like the Japanese steak house, I hope he finds something there that he likes.

The Motorcycle club that we belong to will be having our annual wine tasting and even though I was never a huge drinker of wine in my youth as I have gotten older I have become a huge fan of good wines. The ability to fine good wine reviews and come up with a great wine paring for our dinners has become a job that I love to do, I have a lot of help from my wife who is the wine connoisseur in this family.

To find wine grades and the best available bottles for our events I have been using Joe’s Wine Company. I have really enjoyed using this great web site for all of my wine needs, they have given me some great ideas for wines to use for our dinners and a few that we have been able to raffle off to our members who have really enjoyed the wine ideas that we got from Joe’s Wines and their great web site. We have added wine to our dinner list when we have company for them to enjoy and several of our guests have made Joe’s Wines a regular shopping site for themselves. I can not wait for our next event or even the next quiet dinner we have at home to enjoy a great wine from Joe’s Wines.

Tonight it is not going to rain and I think it would be a great night to throw some burgers on the grill. My wife makes some very nice thick burgers with onions in them that come out very nice on the grill. Second to steak burgers are my favorite thing to put on the grill. I think we are lucky to live in an area that has such nice evenings that are perfect for cooking outside in most weather, I even get to grill once in a while in winter, not a lot of places you can do that.

Today the weather was very nice and we got out to plant our tomato plants and some green peppers, I think that we almost waited to long to start our farming adventure. It has been raining so much it was never the right time to get outside and get dirty. All I can say is these will be the very best tomatoes we have ever grown. I can not wait to get the first ones red and ripe and ready for a blt sandwich. I love a good blt and it is always good when you grow the tomatoes yourself. My mouth is watering just thinking about that sandwich I can hardly wait.

Lit the grill tonight to put some chicken on there and of course it started to rain. I guess any one that needs some rain could just pay me to fire up the grill and in a snap you have instant rain. I do not care I have been going out to check on the chicken in the rain and just as I get ready to take it off the grill it stops raining. Who would of figured that? I guess a little rain is better than a lot of rain and way better than no rain at all, so now that I have shut the grill off it can rain all it wants.
