The nights have been very warm and wet so we have a large influx of bugs in our yard and I am not sure how to combat them. We have tried bug lights and they do not work very well and it is creepy to watch a large bug get zapped to death. I am not a huge fan of the yard bug but come on there has to be a better way than a bug zapper. I know it is hard to even be out in the yard long enough to walk the dogs with out getting half eaten to death by the yard bugs. I can only hope that the first freeze comes quickly this fall and that gets rid of the bugs for the year.

One of the very best spots to play golf in is the great golf courses in Myrtle Beach South Carolina. This is a very nice resort that is close enough to make a weekend trip from here in Nashville Tennessee and I love to golf Myrtle beach. I have found some very nice Myrtle Beach golf packages and have taken advantage of them several times over the years.

I have played golf in many amazing places and I think of Myrtle Beach golf as one of the very best, it ranks right up there with some of the nicer courses I have played in places like Phoenix and Las Vegas. We have even played at night in Myrtle Beach and that is something that I have never seen at another course I have played golf at over the years. Some of the Myrtle Beach golf vacations have included trips to the beach and once we took a boat out on the water for a day, something that I really enjoyed a lot. Myrtle Beach has so much to offer it is one of my favorite vacation spots in the world. I can not wait for our next golfing trip to Myrtle Beach and we have started making the plans for our next trip to the beach and I love to be able to take my golf clubs with my bathing suit.

Tonight our grandson David was over and we had some fireworks left from the Fourth of July, so we went out in the yard and light up some sparklers and a couple of bombs that shot into the night. We had a few bottle rockets and roman candles so we shot them off too. In all we had some harmless fun and David had a good time. It rained on the Fourth of July so we had to make it up some how and this was the very best way we could think of and it was fun for an old man too.

This weekend I am taking my six year old grandson to the fishing derby at the near by lake, it will be his first attempt at fishing by himself. He has been a couple of times with us and had a good time. I just hope that he is able to catch some big fish and that he has a great time at this fun event hosted by the Tennessee Fish and game department. I am looking forward to it myself, I think that David will have a lot of fun and I hope that he catches the fishing bug, it is more fun to fish with a buddy than alone.

This summer we are planning a trip to the Gettysburg battle field and we will be staying at the Gettysburg camping facility. I can not wait for this trip, rv camping Gettysburg has been a trip I have wanted to take for several years and this year I will finally get to see this great battle field that has been in my mind since grade school when I first learned about the Civil War.

There are many Pa RV camping sites available and the top one at least in my mind are the great camp grounds at the Gettysburg battle field, I was amazed to see them offering free camping and this was the final straw that got my wife to agree to go on this trip with me.

I am not sure if they teach as much Civil War in the schools as they used to when I was in school but I for one think that era is a very important one in developing our country into the great country we are now. I want my kids and grand kids to learn about this great country and visiting the battlefield in Gettysburg will be a great start to the education. Plus they get to travel with me and see the country through my eyes.
