Dog day

by Nazas on Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

Today the weather was nice enough to take the dogs out and let them be out in the yard for a while, all of them love the outdoors but none more that our oldest dog, Dottie. She loves the outdoors and would stay outside 24 hours a day if you could let her. She sits in the yard watching everything and when she is ready she comes up to the window and barks to let us know it is time to come bring her inside, These dogs are as smart as most humans and it is such a joy to have them in our household.

Buck

by Nazas on Tuesday, November 18th, 2008

Our biggest and bravest dog Buck has decided that he is entitled to go every time I go out the door and it makes for a loud conversation when he does not get to go. I mean we have five dogs and everyone wants their turn at riding in the car. Buck went to the bank with me today and that means a lot of barking at the animals on the side of the road. We spotted cows and sheep today and of course the occasional dog in the other cars, I love this dog he has become my favorite of the bunch and I think he knows it too. So he does get a few more rides than the other dogs but I try to take them all every couple of days. That makes life very interesting.

Dogs and cats

by Nazas on Thursday, November 6th, 2008

After living with dogs for much of my adult life I know I am a dog person, being allergic to cats does indeed help that decision. I have watched dogs and I have watched cats, dog know they are safe with you and protect you do your stupid pet tricks and only demand to be feed and walked so they can enjoy being outside, Cats mean while are snotty dirty little critters that are way to demanding for their own good and they think they are in charge. I will always be a dog person and I love my dogs and I know that they love me and put up with my stupid human tricks where a cat would not.

A Good Vet

by Nazas on Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

Finding a good vet is an important part of your pet’s care. As soon as we decided to get our first puppy, finding a good vet was the most important task on our list.

We asked friends and family for suggestions on which vet to work with and they gave us a short list of names and phone numbers to consider. We drove by a couple of their offices to see where they were in relation to our home and what kind of neighborhood they were in. Then we called and made an appointment with the one that seemed to have nice facilities near our home.

We did get lucky in that choice. The vet is a wonderful woman has truly cares about the animals in her care. She listens to our concerns and works with us to develop a treatment plan and vaccination schedule.

Diamond mine

by Nazas on Wednesday, July 16th, 2008

We have planned a trip to the diamond mine in Arkansas, people find diamonds there everyday and what you find you get to keep. This will be a fun trip to take one of the dogs, I am guessing that Buster will be the lucky dog because he has to take medication three times a day, and we can not trust anyone else to give him his medication on time all the times it is needed. If he even missed one dose he has a seizure and we sure do not want the little guy to go through that again. Happy Hunting.
