Global warming

by Nazas on Sunday, August 30th, 2009

With all the doom and gloom attached to the global warming outcry, who would of thought that we would have the coolest July on record with only a couple of days over 90 degrees. The month just past was also very wet which makes for very nice weather as far as I am concerned. I love the cool wet weather, and that is not something that I have seen a lot of in my lifetime. I lived in Western Oklahoma for the first 28 years of my life then moved to Arizona for 10 years so the last 11 years in Tennessee have been wonderful as far as the weather is concerned. Let us hope it is another mild winter and then all will be well in my little world.

First hurricane

by Nazas on Tuesday, August 18th, 2009

The seasons first hurricane is dropping some rain on us today, it was almost like we were not going to have a hurricane season this year. In a normal year we get affected by 3-4 hurricanes a year and it is late for us to have the first hurricane of the season in August. I do not mind the rain that we get we need it, but the winds make it hard to work at times but today was not bad and I hope the rest of the hurricane season goes just like today.

Big win

by Nazas on Sunday, August 16th, 2009

Last night the Tennessee Titans won their second preseason game against the Tampa Bay Bucs, it was not a great game to watch it was sloppy, with a lot of mistakes, but it was football and my team won. So it was a great night for me. Our defense looks tough and it looks like we will not miss the departed Albert Haynesworth as much as I feared. It looks like another tough season to watch, all the games will be close with defense and a good kicker as our winning edge. I can not wait for the regular season to start in a few weeks.

Bugs

by Nazas on Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009

The nights have been very warm and wet so we have a large influx of bugs in our yard and I am not sure how to combat them. We have tried bug lights and they do not work very well and it is creepy to watch a large bug get zapped to death. I am not a huge fan of the yard bug but come on there has to be a better way than a bug zapper. I know it is hard to even be out in the yard long enough to walk the dogs with out getting half eaten to death by the yard bugs. I can only hope that the first freeze comes quickly this fall and that gets rid of the bugs for the year.

Sad news

by Nazas on Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

On July 4th the city of Nashville was rocked with the news of the murder of local football hero Steve McNair. It is starting to look like he was killed by his girlfriend of a couple of months. McNair was still married and was having an affair with a 20 year old girl. It looks to me like he was maybe trying to break off his affair and get back with his wife when the murder suicide took place. I feel very sorry for his wife and his sons and I hope that they move past this terrible event and get on with their lives. It was a sad day indeed.
