The time for school to start is quickly getting here and I for one am not ready for all the extra activities that will now be going on. David is going to a school in our area now and that means that we will be more and more involved in his life and in his school activities this year. The one thing that I do not like is the lists that each school sends out, they want way more than a student can use in a year, I guess it is so that if a student does not have anything they can provide it from the extra that each student is asked to provide. I guess that I think it is the schools place to provide this not the student that can barely make it to school with what they need. I guess I am just set in my ways and grumpy.

The price of everything seems to be going out of sight including the newspaper that we deliver with out small delivery business. The rate for the daily paper has went up to .75 from .50, that does not seem like a whole lot but we are getting a lot of complaints and our sales have went into the toilet. A small increase is expected with the increase in the price of gasoline and the increase of all other everyday expenses. Our increase though was only a little over .02 a paper sold, not a lot of an increase for the people doing all of the work in getting the paper to the customers, and I get to hear all of the complaints over the increase too.

Watch bands are just not made for big guys. I’ve got big arms and hands and I’ve always had a hard time finding a watch that will fit on my wrist without cutting into my skin. I’m pretty much giving up on buying any watches or watch bands from the regular stores like Wal-Mart because they are always too small and they hurt. But while on a drive across Oklahoma I happened into a store called Casual Male and they had a nice selection of inexpensive watches with watch bands made especially for large men. So of course i bought one, but now i wish I had bought two so that when this one breaks or gets lost i will have another one ready to wear.

When I go to bed I have to have noise I can not sleep in a quiet house. I most of the time put the TV on the local CBS station and let them lull me to sleep. Since the new TV year has begun at the beginning of September they have messed up the late night schedule so badly that I can not sleep anymore. On the weekends they had CSI Miami which is not my favorite show but which is one I can sleep to, well they have taken it off the air and replaced it with CSI New York and Cold Case, which I can not sleep to at all, it is impossible to sleep to Gary Sinise’s voice. During the week it is even worse I like the Law and Order that used to be on after Craig Ferguson now they have that stupid Tyra Banks who scares me so badly there is no way I could sleep while she is on, so now I am forced to listen to CNN to try and sleep. I hope to find a replacement channel for my sleeping pleasure soon.

Have I ever said that I hate traffic, I really do. Nothing is worse to me than being stuck in a traffic jam. Today I-40 East was gridlocked and of course I had to go that direction to get to the bank. A 5 mile trip took me almost 3 hours to finish. Of course by the time I knew it was blocked I had driven past the last available exit. Add in that the school in Mt Juliet was letting out so when I got off of the interstate the Mt Juliet Road was stop and go for the 2 miles I had to drive in town to get to the bank. If I had known I would of just stayed home and drank beer, I would of been a whole lot better off.
