Ever since our grandson, David has come to live with us it has been a real hassle for him to have a spot of his own to do his homework and crafts. Today we found an old folding table and me moved some of our stuff around in his room and set the folding table in there for him to do his homework on. We had an extra office chair he could use and whe we got that put into his room he was set. Tonight he had a place to do his homework and everything is good in his small world.

Spring cleaning

When I got up this morning I had no idea what was in store for me. I was meet at the door by an angry faced woman with a cleaning rag in her hand, it is spring cleaning day and you had better not try to escape, was what I was told and now I am tired and sweaty, and the day is only half over, I can see that today will be a bad day for me, now the dogs have fled to the basement, I wonder if there is room down there for me to hide with them, Cassie it seems is the smartest of the bunch, she vacuumed half of her room and then snuck out. I guess I better get back to work and quit loafing.

Today is my loving wife’s birthday and I still have not gotten her the birthday gift that I have been looking for. I really wanted to find her a broach that we had seen a couple of years ago, but the search for this kind of broach is driving me crazy. I have searched online as well as in the many different antique shops here in Nashville, all to no avail. I guess I will have to give up for this year and find a different gift for her. Oh well happy birthday Hun. We will be taking the whole family out to eat later and that will be a lot of fun I am sure. Not sure that David will like the Japanese steak house, I hope he finds something there that he likes.

Super Bowl

Without a team in the hunt for the Super Bowl I was kind of cheering for the New Orleans Saints to win, but I was more against Peyton Manning. I live in Tennessee and I hate the University of Tennessee with a passion. It is incredible that the people here think of him as a god. I feel that he is a cheater and I hate the way he is so self focused. I even did not enjoy the commercials this year. In the past the commercials have been very witty and kept us entertained even if the game was boring. Let us hope the next Super Bowl is better or at least the commercials are.

Birthday

Today I hit a milestone that just a few years ago I did not think I would have a chance to reach. Today I turn 50 and it amazes me that I have gotten this old all of the sudden. It only seems like a few years ago I turned 30, and that was an age that I did not want to admit I had reached. So how do you think I feel about 50? I am just going to say that I am 39 and holding, it not only women that are vain about their ages. I think that next year I will back up instead of going forward. I am now looking forward to my next birthday, at least I think that I am.

Full moon

I had to run to the grocery store last night and I noticed the full moon was a huge size and blood red, it was maybe the most beautiful moon I have ever seen. You see pictures of huge full moons and now I can say that I have seen a full blood red moon myself. I see now why the ancient peoples put such mystery and awe into the full moon and the eclipses would of freaked me out if I had no knowledge of them. The moon is simply awesome and I love looking at it and wish I had been able to be one of the lucky men who walked on the moon in years gone by.

Global warming

With all the doom and gloom attached to the global warming outcry, who would of thought that we would have the coolest July on record with only a couple of days over 90 degrees. The month just past was also very wet which makes for very nice weather as far as I am concerned. I love the cool wet weather, and that is not something that I have seen a lot of in my lifetime. I lived in Western Oklahoma for the first 28 years of my life then moved to Arizona for 10 years so the last 11 years in Tennessee have been wonderful as far as the weather is concerned. Let us hope it is another mild winter and then all will be well in my little world.

Bad day

Today started out bad I did not feel good when I woke up and it has gotten worse as the day has went by. My grandson stayed the last couple of nights with us and he does not feel good either and for a small kid he is a major grump when he does not feel good. The weather is nice but when I go outside I feel worse, I guess it is from the ragweed and I am just going to stay inside the rest of the day and rest up for the work week ahead. I hope things get better as the rest of the day goes by and I hope it gets better quickly.

Home remodel

To get down to business on our home remodel we have went to Sears to get help with our plans and the Sears home remodels are the very best. We have made plans to add replacement windows and to remodel our kitchen. Granite Countertops is one option that we want to explore, and going to Sears will give us a professional guide to help with our home remodel plans.

It has been in our plans for a long time to get our home remodeled and with the help of the pros at Sears we will be able to get all of our home improvements done in time for the holidays. My wife is looking forward to having the family come to our home for Christmas and to make this happen we need to get done with our home improvements.

The new granite countertops will make our old kitchen very beautiful and make it much easier to serve a large meal in our kitchen. I want the replacement windows to save money on energy and to make our home look more modern. I know that the pros at Sears will have exactly what we are looking for in our home improvement plans. I can not wait to see our home after we are done with these home improvements, it will be a joy to have company in our new remodeled home.
