Aquatic Therapy

by on Wednesday, October 29th, 2008

Everyone who has ever been in a hot tub can tell you how soothing and therapeutic the warm, jetted water feels on your body. There are hot tubs and soaking tubs in a lot of homes, but the ultimate luxury for someone who needs or loves aquatic therapy is a swim spa from HydroWorx.

A swim spa is a specially designed and built pool, which is much more versatile than a tub. The deeper water of a swim spa allows full body immersion while standing or walking. Some of the pools on the HydroWorx web site even feature underwater treadmills and underwater video monitors.

Hydrotherapy pools are used for rehabilitation from hip replacement surgery and can help lessen arthritic pain and other pain associated with joints or post surgery recovery. The natural buoyancy of the water helps relieve stress on joints and also reduces the fear of falling while exercising. Aquatic therapy is also used as a treatment for fibromyalgia and even weight loss.

But you don’t have to be injured or sick to enjoy the benefits of hydrotherapy pools. Professional athletes use the swim spas for the massage after a game or practice and use it to train. The water resistance from the underwater jets and the underwater treadmill give you a cardiovascular workout that cannot be matched on land. This is good for swimmers and runners to train, and anyone who is health conscious will appreciate the improved stamina and weight loss from session in a HydoWorx pool.

The HydroWorx pools can be installed outdoors as a partial inground pool or indoors as an inground pool. They work great in a sunroom addition or an addition to your home specifically for the swim spa and exercise.

Grand Old Opry

Here in Nashville the Grand Old Opry is a grand place to take family and friends when they visit, and it is a fantastic place for locals to go see the stars of country music all in one grand night of music and comedy. We have only been a couple of times but it has been a nice time had every time we go. I had always wanted to see Charlie Daniels and I got the chance to see him on that famous stage and he brought down the house with his performance. One thing I will never forget was watching Porter Waggoner just before he got sick and died last year it was a pleasure to see him preform for the last time.
