Spotty Coverage

by on Thursday, August 18th, 2011

If you travel and use a cell phone, you will appreciate the fact that a couple of companies do a much better job at service area coverage than others. Even though cell phones have been in use for over 20 years, there are still huge gaps in coverage across the country.

I was shocked when my Sprint cell phone did not get a signal at all for three days while I drove through parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania. This is a pretty populated area and I expected to be able to call business contacts at least from the hotels at night. There are still parts of Delaware that do not have wi-fi in the hotels.

There are certain elements common in most stories, such as movies or TV shows. There is almost always a love interest. There is usually some kind of crisis that has potential fatal and serious consequences. There is someone who rises to the occasion and becomes a hero. And usually some kind of surprise. All of these have to tie together to keep a person’s interest. The biggest difference between all the stories is not the story – it is the characters involved. That is why character development is so important to a story.

The Outhouse

by on Friday, August 5th, 2011

Everything was going just fine. I was just about to say out loud that life is good. But then, in a flash, a knock on the door or a phone call in the middle of the night. And life goes from the penthouse to the outhouse.
