Fireworks

by on Saturday, July 18th, 2009

Tonight our grandson David was over and we had some fireworks left from the Fourth of July, so we went out in the yard and light up some sparklers and a couple of bombs that shot into the night. We had a few bottle rockets and roman candles so we shot them off too. In all we had some harmless fun and David had a good time. It rained on the Fourth of July so we had to make it up some how and this was the very best way we could think of and it was fun for an old man too.

Fishing derby

by on Wednesday, July 1st, 2009

This weekend I am taking my six year old grandson to the fishing derby at the near by lake, it will be his first attempt at fishing by himself. He has been a couple of times with us and had a good time. I just hope that he is able to catch some big fish and that he has a great time at this fun event hosted by the Tennessee Fish and game department. I am looking forward to it myself, I think that David will have a lot of fun and I hope that he catches the fishing bug, it is more fun to fish with a buddy than alone.

Baseball trip

by on Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

We have put together our annual baseball trip for this year. We will be going to four cities and seeing eight teams play. Our trip this year will be from St Louis to Kansas City then on to Denver and end up in Phoenix. After our six days of fun in the sun then we will fly back home to go back to work for another year. Then we will do it again. This will be the fourth year we have done this summer fun trip and I for one can not wait to be at the park eating a hot dog and drinking a beer, this year will be a lot of fun for sure.

Sand in our future

by on Monday, May 18th, 2009

As I see it we have some sand in our future, and I can not wait. We have made plans to head to Myrtle Beach for the sand sun and bike week. Staying in a Myrtle Beach Resort is a bonus for this trip. To state the facts we will be staying in a North Myrtle Beach Resort on this trip and I can not wait, it looks like one of the finest North Myrtle Beach Resorts on the beach and I am very pleased that we got this reservation for this year. So of our trips to Myrtle Beach have not been as memorable because of the poor hotels we have chosen, this year we stepped up to the plate and hit a home run with the Prince Resort.

We will be taking our grandson with us on this trip and it will be his first trip to the ocean, as much as he is fascinated by sharks and the water in general I think this will be a very fun trip for him. He will be seven in a couple of months and is getting big enough to travel some with us. It will be a fun family vacation this year for sure.
