An App for That

by on Monday, November 14th, 2011

The new catchphrase this year has got to be, “There’s an app for that.” I read today that there are over 1 million apps. How in the hell can a normal person stay on top of all those apps? That is crazy to think we, the general public, have such a great need, desire and demand for little bits of software to solve all our problems or make life so much easier for us.

The only app that I can thin of that would help me is one that would tell me exactly where I set down my cell phone or car keys, or did someone move them in a cleaning frenzy. I think at least once a week I am searching for my damn phone because it is not where I thought I left it.

Spotty Coverage

by on Thursday, August 18th, 2011

If you travel and use a cell phone, you will appreciate the fact that a couple of companies do a much better job at service area coverage than others. Even though cell phones have been in use for over 20 years, there are still huge gaps in coverage across the country.

I was shocked when my Sprint cell phone did not get a signal at all for three days while I drove through parts of Maryland and Pennsylvania. This is a pretty populated area and I expected to be able to call business contacts at least from the hotels at night. There are still parts of Delaware that do not have wi-fi in the hotels.

This is 2011 people! Get caught up with technology!

The Outhouse

by on Friday, August 5th, 2011

Everything was going just fine. I was just about to say out loud that life is good. But then, in a flash, a knock on the door or a phone call in the middle of the night. And life goes from the penthouse to the outhouse.

Phone calls

by on Sunday, June 7th, 2009

I make it a rule never to pick up a phone if I do not know whom is calling. The last two days my phone has been ringing off the hook with very odd numbers and I have not picked it up yet, and I do not plan to either. The companies that call are annoying and I do not want to be annoyed on my days off, I get annoyed enough at work. I mean get a number with an ID so we can see who is calling and more of your phone calls might be picked up.
